Aims of World Green Tea Association

Dear Readers:

O-CHA, which has been cultivated in Asia, has given great influence on cultures and arts of many countries of the world, and now it is an integral part of people's daily life. The beneficial functions of tea have been revealed by scientific researches. Especially the cultural values of green tea are newly understood and people in the world are paying more and more attention to green tea. The first "World O-CHA(tea) Festival" was held in October 2001. This was our new engagement to promote more global exchange of many people who are related to tea, and help popularize green tea around the world. Only through continuous practices and effort, we believe we can reach the goal and gain the wonderful result. In order to tell all over the world of the greatness of green tea, and to promote further development of green tea production and tea-related industries and culture of green tea, we need to encourage wider communications among various fields such as production and distribution, culture, science and industrial technology. Therefore here, we have established "World Green Tea Association", which aims to contribute to global expansion of green tea. "World Green Tea Association" will take and carry over the engagement and the result of "World O-CHA(tea) Festival", also the global network of manpower. We are now promoting various activities to stimulate demand for green tea and the global increasement. We also aim the development of green tea culture and the related industries. We ask you, who are related to production, distribution, consumption, history and culture of green tea, or even someone who are very interested in tea and tea culture, to support us and be a part of our society.
